Answer: Because we operate just like a doctor's office in your own home - with office hours Mon.-through-Fri. between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. - we cannot provide emergency services. If you believe that you have an emergency situation, it is important that you contact 911 immediately. Question #2: What insurance does American Physician Housecalls accept? Answer: Our Practice accepts traditional Medicare Plan B and Medicare managed care programs for primary insurance and all forms of secondary insurance. Question #3: When is the doctor available? Answer: In most situations, a doctor or nurse practitioner is available within 24 hours. Question #4: Do house calls cost more than a regular office visit? Answer: American Physician Housecalls charges only what is allowed by Medicare. There are no additional trip charges or hidden costs. You will still need to pay the applicable co-pay and deductible amounts that you might have under your existing insurance plans. Question #5: What do I do if I need labs, X-rays, or other diagnostic tests? Answer: Most diagnostic tests can be performed in the comfort of your own home. If a larger scale test or procedure is necessary, the doctor's staff will make arrangements at a local hospital or diagnostic center. Question #6: What hospitals am I allowed to select? Answer: You are not required to go to any specific hospital. The doctor can assist with your admission to the hospital of your choice. Question #7: Who takes care of me while I am in the hospital? Answer: The APH doctor will refer you to a hospital specialist if you are admitted to the hospital. The
hospitality and the APH doctor will communicate while you are admitted and the house call doctor will resume your care once you are discharged from the hospital.
